We are very busy second graders in room 207!

7:55 - 8:30
At this time students arrive at school, place their belongings in the closet, and begin their morning routine: lunch count, turning in homework, giving important notes to Mrs. Rush, starting morning work, etc.
8:30 - 8:45
Next we recite the Pledge of Allegiance, sing the National Anthem, and listen to the announcements for the day our on school news station, BTV. Mrs. Rush takes care of sending notes and lunch money to the office and letting us know what is planned for the day.
8:45 - 10:30
Our Language Arts block is during this time. We always start with our Morning Meeting followed by spelling, reading, phonics, and our Language Arts centers.
10:30 -11:00
During this time, we switch classes for DIBELS instruction. We practice fluency and comprehension with some of the other second grade teachers.
11:05 - 11:35
Finally it is time to feed our growling bellies!
11:35 - 11:55
Right after lunch we can run off our energy with physical and creative activities.
12:00 - 1:15
Now it is time for a read aloud by Mrs. Rush or sustained silent reading followed by Math class.
1:20 - 2:00
This is when we have our special class for the day. Mondays we have Library with Mrs. Uhl. Tuesdays we have Technology with Mr. French. Wednesdays we have Art with Mrs. Lindenmuth. Thursdays we have Music with Mrs. Myers, and Fridays we have Physical Education with Mr. Allison.
2:00 - 2:40
This time is set aside for Science and Social Studies.
2:40 - 2:45
During this time we wrap up our day. We go over our homework assignments for the day and pack up our things so we are ready for dismissal.
2:45 - 3:25
Student dismissal begins at this time with walkers being dismissed promptly at 2:45. Students are usually gone by 3:15 and teacher dismissal is at 3:25.
